Holy calamity, scream insanity...
I'm Monique, currently a Stay Work At Home Secular Homeschooling Mom to four five enchanting Minions.
I write this blog, I take pictures, I dabble in digital art and web design. I'm a social media maven, super mega geek, I'm feisty, Puerto Rican, an Aries and over {way over} caffeinated. I prefer sneakers over high heels, I am huge into music and will listen to anything once. I'd like to live every day like my ass has been set aflame, but usually lack the gumption.
I've been married to Christian not even a year at this point for a year two years three years! We've known each other since we were children, and dated on and off since we were 17. We have seen the cliches of "up and downs" and we're still kicking ass, taking names and learning to forgive and grow. We've worked hard to build the marriage that we have today, and are extremely proud.
We live in Seattle, where it rains a lot, but not nearly as much as you think it does. Ithaca, where it's infinitely boring. We love sidewalk chalk, bubble baths and long walks in the park. We miss Seattle. We really miss Seattle.
In 2012 we gained a cat named Haverford and turned into all of the things we hate about animal people!
The Minions? Well, they're awesome!
Samara {Also Known As: Pueo or Noodle} the eldest and sole Princess, is biologically my child. But 'biological' means nothing to Christian who will tell you that HE gave birth to her. She primarily lives with her Father (J.) and spends as much time with us as we can all possibly manage, given the distance - but it is never, ever enough for us.
She loves books, reading, doodling and making funny faces in every single picture she takes. She does have her sensitive moments, but we take advantage of those to give her extra hugs and cuddles.

Caesar {Also Known As: Honu or NoNo} our eldest son is our Spirited child. Hyper emotional and insanely competitive, he is also scary intelligent and expressive. Despite constantly outsmarting us, he is a joy to be around.
He's a master at puzzles and video games, is very protective of his siblings and is a little bit particular about the way his life is run.

Mercutio {Also Known As: Kika or Noggin} is our serious artist. He loves to paint and can often be caught identifying shapes in the clouds, or noting the various shades of green in the grass.
He was born with a grimace that we still see from time to time, but his smile squeezes the life out of me.

Severus {Also Known As: Kilape or Nugget} is our biggest character! His wit is sharp and always on point, he is an amazing dancer and loves playing with his big siblings.
Easily our most "spoiled" child, he has been able to experience a lot of things his elder siblings have not.

We were thrilled to announce that Cinco de Minion was going to join our family. Tragically, I miscarried the pregnancy at 6 weeks along, on August 2nd 2012. Though we did not know the baby's sex, I was certain I was carrying a boy and we named him Yorick Fable.
We are learning to cope, and have not yet decided if we will try again, we decided we would try again - but fate intervened before we started trying and I'm pregnant with Number Six!
We are optimistic, hopeful, terrified and over the moon ecstatic.
