Ten Months

You are ten months old today.
Yeah. I’m pretty upset about it too.
Despite your blatant and constant refusal to grow teeth, this month added many new things to your already expansive repertoire.
You said goodbye to your sister. Which sucked. :( But you loved every minute of her cuddling you and tickling your underpits. You fussed the first day that she was gone. And Mister Ka Boo Boo... we all fussed with you.
You fought a Gyro Bowl, and won, spraying tiny star puffs all over the kitchen floor within moments. Huzzah!
You voluntarily helped me fold laundry and participated in making arts and crafts with your brothers and Titi Nyann. {And by helping me, I mean - you rammed all of the folded stuff onto the floor. And by participated in arts and crafts, I mean - you ate tissue paper and drooled pink.}
We partied at Ithaca’s very first Boricua parade and festival where you got a taste of your Puerto Rican heritage. Literally. You ate all of the pernil and arroz con gandules.
The rediscovery of your thumb and discovery Yo Gabba Gabba have made you quite the happy Nugget.
You gained an unfortunate loathing for the act of walking, instead you just prefer to crawl really, really fast - you don't care. As long as you're getting from place to place, head butting doors and stuff, mobility is mobility!
You did learn to dance though, and it slays me. It doesn't even have to be a full song, you just hear a sound; a thump, a chord, a clink and you're bobbing your head and shaking your bottom.
You started picking on Mercutio. Whenever he’s near, you pull his hair. I'm the only one who finds this hilarious.
You are expressing yourself well. Your likes and dislikes are understood, making it loads easier to gauge what you need and want besides boobies, a new diaper, boobies or boobies.
You even began to mimic sounds, which led to Ueli teaching you how to say “Uh Oh”. You have been clearly saying “Ma Ma” and “Da Da” for some time now, but I consider “Uh Oh” to be your first word.
I can't say I appreciate how rapidly your babyness is escaping my mommy clutches, but I am in love with watching you change.

Love this post, Severus' sweet & beautiful face, & all of the hilarious nicknames! Sophie had so many more nicknames when she was small. Now I kind of miss them!

Even now she only has four.
