Caesar, The Budding Photojournalist

Friday, November 2, 2012 at 8:38AM Caesar is a lover of the penny.
He spots one and joyously gathers it up and adds it to his pretty impressive collection.
Every so often he takes them out and counts them, he tells us how many pennies he has and all the things he intends to buy with what usually only amounts to an excess of 50 cents. It's hard to break his beautiful heart and tell him that he's probably not getting anything with those pennies but an exchange for better coinage, so we just encourage him to keep on collecting.
The other day the boys were all playing in Caesar's room {he has moved on to his own big boy space}, when Caesar found some of his collection inside of his guitar. He shook it out onto the floor and photographed it with my camera.
All of a sudden he comes running downstairs and says;
"MOMMY! I was taking pictures of my money and Sevie put one of my pennies IN HIS MOUTH!"
Since this is not an unusual occurrence, I asked him if he took it out and put the pennies away, to which he responded as I'd hoped this responsible big brother would, and added;
"AND! I have PROOF!"
Now I'm forced to ask if he photographed his brother popping pennies into his mouth before he decided to take them away from him. He - naturally - nodded, and I sighed in response.
And, very proud of himself for making sure he snapped the pictures quickly, he provided me with these incriminating photos despite my facepalm.
I look up from the tiny LCD screen to see my six year old positively beaming.
I don't really know what to say yet, he did make sure his baby was safe, and damn it if these pictures aren't well executed for a six year old on Auto, so I give him a thumbs up and he dashes off back to his room.
Later I ask him why he decided to take pictures of Severus eating a penny as I repeated the "If you see your brothers doing something dangerous..." lecture, and he said something that sounds oddly like what I've said to his father on multiple occasions;
"I have to document LIFE, Mommy!"
He won.
