An Addendum, And A Thank You

{This photo has nothing to do with the following entry, I'm just using Severus as a segue.}
I wanted to respond to each one of you who supported my entry yesterday by commenting {not necessarily by agreeing}, sharing, retweeting, +1ing and visiting, and everything. I thought I'd sit down after Caesar and Mercutio went to bed, and settle in to an episode of How It's Made while I nursed Severus and respond to your comments.
But the truth of the matter was; I ended up feeling completely overwhelmed, and I passed out with my face on the keyboard trying to respond to all the emails first.
I schedule my online time in my freest moments at home, and I refuse to sacrifice a minute of time that could be spent with my children online instead - this is never negotiable for me. This sudden frenzy of activity was nothing I'd ever planned for.
So, a few things;
- Not selling my ticket to BlogHer. I'm going to go with an open mind {sort of}. And I hope to shake some of your hands {because I'm not a hugger}, even those who disagreed with what I said. Thank you for expressing your opinions, not one of you was a dickbag and I appreciate that more than I can tell you.
- My point in all of my drivel was that there are two wrongs; The obvious plagiarism and from what I saw; the teaser of "Someone's stealing content, muahaha, but you do the research and out her for me, then attack." and the subsequent, horrendous attacks.
- One of you noted that it's typically the same pack of writers, which if I recall correctly are the same ones frequently calling out Anna Viele as a 'Mean Girl'. On top of that, I was bewildered by seeing anti-bullying advocates joining in the slander. Very hypocritical, as far as I'm concerned. There may not be 'hundreds' of bloggers who are as cutthroat as what I've seen in recent days, but there were hundreds who agreed that the cutthroat-ness was just and right. Those are the bloggers I'm afraid to run into at BlogHer.
- To address the threat: I'd read something along the lines of 'throat punching a bitch' or 'punching that bitch in the throat', as I was tracking the tweets of people discussing the situation. I saw it a moment after my computer began the hibernation process so I could take my sons outside to play. When I got back, the timeline hadn't moved and I clicked on the tweet to screenshot it and got the 'not found' Twitter message, when I hit the back button, the stream had refreshed itself and I could no longer locate it. The tweet was in conversation to someone else, it wasn't sent to Kristin or Amalah or Del. I'm sure I'm not mistaken in its existence, but it looks like I was the only one who saw it, and alas I have no proof.
- To answer a common question in some emails sent to me; No, no one has contacted me, and I'm not sure why they would. I'm not expecting to 'blow up', because in my next posts I'm going to regale you with stories of a blanket fort, and how the baby is drawn to sunshine. I have not garnered any new sponsors, no one has yet offered to buy my children, I did not make any new 'big blogger' friends, and in fact lost the remaining ounce of respect I had for someone I've known for years.
My only plan at 4:00am, after a cup of coffee kept me awake all night, was to write down my own thoughts on my own blog - not to get on anyone's good {or bad} side, or anything more. - Kim {NotBlessedMama} it's the 'City of Thieves' episode, season one - I believe.
I think I covered all that I wanted to, or that I thought was important enough to touch on.
Again, I thank you all. I'd invite you to email me with any lingering questions, but please know; my self imposed email avoidance weekend begins tomorrow, as usual.

Dang! I still can't remember! Lovely post my dear, I totally got what you were saying. Just being my ridiculous self.
Well said.
And I look forward to hearing (and hopefully seeing lots of pics) about your blanket fort!!
I hope that BlogHer ends up being a good experience for you.
(P.S. I know I didn't respond to your prior post. Since I don't venture out to that many other blogs on a regular basis... it was the first I'd heard of it all. After that I clicked on the links and saw it all.....Grrrrr...)
