I Stole Your Idea: Glow Stick Bath!

Friday, March 9, 2012 at 11:53PM I'll have to apologize for featuring Pinterest for the second time this week, but I do have to admit it has proved helpful when I'm in a pinch for creative ideas.
I had no clue that there were so many brilliant 'out of the box' ideas, and though I have some concerns with Pinterest's TOS, the Minions and I have enjoyed a ton of great projects!
Well... this idea was for me.
Ever since I was a child, I've been fascinated by anything that glows in the dark. The adoration for glowy stuff has only increased since having children, and now Christian has taken to steering me away from the $1.00 glow stick tubes the same way he does when I'm near the nail polish.
I also love bubble baths. Bubble baths are my 'me time' activities, and I feverishly anticipate their existence in my week.
When I saw the glow stick bath idea on Pinterest my mind was rightly blown!
I knew that I'd share this idea with the Minions anyway, and I also wanted to make sure that the glow sticks would hold up well with the play and the warmth of the bath. I didn't want the plastic to get too pliable and then spill the glow stuff contents on their skin.
{Good excuse?}
I decided to go with the bracelets this time, because there are usually 15 in a tube and they're the most fun - with a bunch of ways to link them together! I know the Minions will like the options.
I swung these things around, clipped them together, swirled them in the water, tied them in a knot and they didn't explode, or leak.
I told the boys all about my super cool bath time and they were ready to jump in the tub after breakfast! {Due to Caesar's eczema and the hard well water - they only get one long bath a week, the scrubs every other day are really quick and are not for fun, like the Sunday bath.}
Their baths will include more overhead light and more bubbles - because they're clumsy and I can't resist their bubble beards.
But I bet they'll have a blast! I'm so glad that I spotted this trick, I never would have put the two together.
Has Pinterest {or anything else for that matter} given you any great and simple ideas for activities like this?
