The Fails Are My Favorite

20120712-DSC_0064

There's a point every year where we all {and by "we all" I mean "me"} decide {and by "decide" I mean "I guilt trip and antagonize until everyone gives in"} it would be brilliant to get updated photos of the children we have with us.

Which usually ends up in the best kind of candid disaster.

I keep fooling myself into thinking that as they get older, this task will become easier.

I am, of course, an idiot. But I am ever just as happy to take on this task as many times as it's given to me.

This year, 10 minutes of shooting time yielded over 200 photos, almost 70 of them were "good". That's an improvement I can get behind!

Indeed, there be wardrobe malfunctions. Naturally.

I stopped shooting for "perfection" a long, long time ago, these loves of mine are amazing just as they are, and these pictures show their personalities wonderfully - to me, that's perfect enough.

Next year, my only goal is less bribery, more attention to pant zippers and shirt collars.

I think I'll be able to manage that.

Those are so cute and fun to look at! I love just following the kids around and taking shot after shot just to see what comes of them later! They are usually the best as you said! :)
