Focus Week Two: Water
Monique |
Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 12:15AM You guys. I was abandoned this week. ABANDONED!
Actually, Nyann's camera went dead dead and she didn't realize it until the last minute, and had a sleepover with a friend, so she'll participate next week with my camera.
Samara just totally forgot. She's definitely my child.
We've been quite inundated with life this past week, we have a fifth child in the house, my young cousin, whom we are all enjoying getting to know. She's remarkable! Christian has been working a lot, I've been working a little, but nothing is too wild. :)
And, as you can see, the format of the blog may look a little familiar. That's because I'd had enough of Squarespace 6, I gave it a week and couldn't bear it anymore. The template I was using was the most effective, but there were still so many things I couldn't do with it.
Ultimately, I decided that the threaded comments were not worth it and downgraded back to Squarespace 5, and then I did a very quick, simple redesign because I had the freedom to do it.
Anyway, onto Focus...
This week's theme was WATER, and full disclosure, this picture was taken on July 6th.
My Mother bought a slip n' slide for all the children to enjoy and it's safe to say that Nyann definitely got the most enjoyment out of it, since she was the only one sliding on it. She'd run and toss herself onto the plastic sheet so hard I swore she was going to have bruises, or that after a good workout body soreness.
But nope, the next day she did the same thing for hours. Crazy kids.
Her birthday was this past weekend and she welcomed 11 in the jerkiest fashion I'd ever seen from her, but I think she'll get it together soon.
The theme for July 21st is MESSY!
Remember that you have until Friday to link up {the linky will close automatically}, I'd prefer that you linked to your website, or to wherever your photo is hosted, so it will be easier to share some favorites each week.
That first link in the linky below, is from my mother! So even she's digging Focus. :P

Beautiful picture! It's amazing that kids can run & flop and those things & not hurt themselves. If I tried that, I'd break a hip LOL
Tara, I'd break one too! Haha!
I posted mine early this week! I was going to do the first one but i just ran out of time....sigh
She looks like she was having a ball!
Thanks so much for participating, Aaron! I love your picture, his pout is too perfect.
She was, Heather, her laughter rang through the crazy forested area we live in. It was great.
I so wanted to participate in last weeks too! I just let time get away from me. Having a three-year-old though can be a challenge at times. Especially when you are a stay-at-home dad and they are going through the "favoritism" stage of deciding they can't be without you for 5 seconds....lol
Aaron
*Water* I miss it!! Over here it hasn't been over 70 this summer, and with the heavy wind factor, it makes it chilly. We loaded the kids up and hauled them the 5 minutes to the beach yesterday afternoon in hopes of getting wet. Um, no. Too frigid.
Your daughter is beautiful!! I'm glad you guys are having such a great visit!!
I liked the look of your other layout, but for some reason (probably because I'm so tech-challenged) I could no longer comment on it :(
How's the vegenterian diet goig? I hope you guys all have a fun weekend!!
Great pic. I remember those water slides when i was younger they were a blast but i would always brusie.
I love the picture! Looks like she had fun! Happy Late BDAY!
Love the picture, it really shows the essence of the theme - water!
I love that picture. It looks like she was having a great time!
That is such a neat photo! I love photographs that catch the realism of water flying and drops! I managed one picture like that when my daughter was really little at a splash pad. It's my favorite photo ever and I haven't been able to replicate it! Awesome photo!
I love your photos. I can't wait to see the MESSY one.
I kept meaning to come have a look at your blog when you mentioned the change (I usually read it on my phone so it looks all mobile-y. But different now.) And I am bummed that I didn't get to see it 'cos I love change. But this looks awesome. And I'm glad you went with what felt best to you! :D Hope I find time to enter this linky. Love it!
