Cluster of Dots Nail Art

I often mention my love for nail polish, but very rarely get to share the fun stuff I've done with my ten little canvases.

This design is one of my favorites, though my original inspiration started with a dark base, I love the lighter colors all around. It's really easy to do too.

Recommended Items:

  • Base & Party Nail Color {Party Nail Optional}
  • At Least Four Other Colors For Dots
  • Toothpick, Orange Stick or Dotting Tool
  • Sheet of Paper, Post-It Note, Whatevs
  • Patience

Colors I Used:

  • Base: Essie Bikini So Teeny
  • Party: Essie Stroke of Brilliance
  • Sally Hansen Sun Kissed & Lightening
  • Kiss Nail Art Soft Purple, Beach Pink, Beach Green & Soft Blue

What I Did:

Step One: Optional, prepare nails. Using a Q-Tip, dab Vaseline around your cuticles, avoiding your nails.

Step Two: Paint party nail first, two coats. Base, two coats. Allow to dry.

Step Three: Plop a very small drop of a dot color onto paper, gently dip toothpick into the drop. Dot along the edge of your nail. Repeat with other colors.

Step Four: Seal with clear {or matte} top coat. Clean any messy cuticles, easily after drying {thanks, nail prep}.

Step Five: You're done! You should probably do a victory dance. Just a suggestion.

Love them! If you lived closer I'd have you do mine (because that would be SO MESSY if I tried it....I cheat and use the pre-made sticker ones..) :)

That looks so cool! I would try it if all of my nail polish weren't in shades of pink. I need to branch out.

Nail polish peels off of my nails because they're oily. Booo! Cute, though!

Super cute! I used to make flowers out of polka dots too. Pinned!

This is so great. My daughter and nieces will love this since I spent a day last week giving them all pedicures! We will rock this for a fun afternoon.
