Today you are one month old! 

I'm not entirely surprised, given how quickly pregnancy with you flew by, I knew your birth would make time seem non existent. Sure enough, here we are, one month old when I still haven't even wrapped my head around the fact that you are finally in my arms.

You are a delight, little one. The last week or so you have shown a lot of interest in the things and people around you, staying awake a little longer and beginning to give those precious gurgly coos I so adore.

Though it's obvious that you have grown {visit with pediatrician on the 6th clocks your weight at 8 pounds, 7 ounces and 20 1/4 inches long} you still seem so small to me, so much smaller than these big boys around you.

It is never more noticeable than when you and Severus nurse at the same time. He holds your tiny hands in his own bigger ones, he sticks his huge head up close to your head and rubs noses with you. It's funny because he used to be the small one.

As of today you are holding your head up very well, and you have been rolling over from tummy to back since you were two days old - the Doctor caught you on the move while we were being discharged from the hospital and warned me to keep an eye on you. I didn't need the reminder, but you can cool it on the big boy stuff, thanks.

You've taken many trips outdoors, where people squeak "Oh, a brand NEW baby!", give me funny looks and then ask your age only to tell me that you're cute. Your brothers gather around you, equally as fascinated by your presence and they tell these strangers your name, date of birth and social security number. They are so proud to be your big brothers. 

You find a lot of comfort on your tummy, and in the arms of your family - you love to sleep on Daddy's chest, it's a nice spot, I admit. Some days you are inconsolable unless you're next to me, or in your sling, it makes things difficult but we always make it through. Like your siblings before you, you revel in a good dance party. 

Today, you are battling thrush, which we have never experienced before. It's a mild case, thankfully, so hopefully the Nystatin for two weeks will clear it all away. I thought it was a diaper rash caused by our cloth diapering efforts, and I am so glad to know that it had nothing to do with that. 

As soon as we've finished up the two massive boxes of disposables that your Ueli and Oma picked up for us when I worried your butt would fall off, we'll go back to cloth diapering and I can't wait! I've really enjoyed the process so far. 

Despite the thrush, you still embody your mostly calm and mild personality. You are the eye of our chaotic life storm and the quiet moments I have with you are ones I truly savor and cherish. 

We are very lucky to have you, little Raven, and I am elated that I get to watch you grow. Happy one month-day!

Given all of the infinite possibilities, I bet my answer is pretty lame, however I always find myself thinking of the things I could accomplish if I never needed to sleep. 

So many extra hours to get some quiet, to sneak delicious cookies into my mouth, to get chores done and television shows watched while everyone else slept... *sigh*

My super power would be to be forever full of energy, never feeling tired/sleepy/drowsy and could live without ever needing to sleep.
